Grant Writer (Full-Time)

Rend Lake College in collaboration with Southeastern Illinois College seeks a full-time GRANT WRITER to explore grant opportunities consistent with the mission of Rend Lake College and Southeastern Illinois College, individually or collaboratively.  This individual will prepare grant applications, provide a central clearinghouse for the initial application step for grant proposal development, maintain and track College grant applications and related documents, assist grant manager with budget monitoring and program compliance, compile and prepare grant reports; prepare project fiscal technical reports for United States Department of Education, United States Department of Labor, or other grant agencies; prepare and monitor resource development budget and others as assigned; perform grant requirements as assigned; develop and recommend college policies and procedures concerning grants and contracts; seek, develop, and maintain current information on state and federal legislations involving funds available to develop new or existing programs/projects in conjunction with each College’s strategic plan and RAMP documents; encourage and coordinate the participation of faculty and staff in resource development by disseminating information and providing technical assistance; serve as the Colleges’ information source on grantsmanship and keep the administration advised of changes and procedures required for compliance; serve as the Colleges’ liaison with contracted grant consultants and others as assigned.  Travel to both colleges is required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Documented grant experience required.
  • Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of grants associated with community colleges preferred.
  • Experience with grant reporting and tracking.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with grammar and proofreading.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.
SALARY & BENEFITS
  • $55,000-$60,000 or commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits.
