Music

Welcome to the Rend Lake College Music Program! We offer many opportunities for students who wish to pursue music as a career or get involved for the love of it!

The Music Program at Rend Lake College offers two (2) degrees in music; Associate of Fine Arts in Music - Instrumental and Associate of Fine Arts Music - Vocal.  The AFA in Music will prepare a student for majoring in music.

With its dedicated artist faculty and growing performing ensembles, Rend Lake College provides students with a first-rate musical education at an affordable cost. Students can reap the rewards of a low-cost education and individual attention at RLC while preparing for a four-year university.

Facilities

RLC Music Facilities

In 2013, the RLC Music Program underwent renovations, thanks to funding gathered by the RLC Foundation and provided by music alumni, enthusiasts, faculty, staff, and the community. More than $100,000 was raised through the Foundation's campaign "Extreme Makeover: Music Division" to upgrade both the facility itself and the equipment used by students, including remodeling the practice rooms, upgrading music rooms, and purchasing expensive equipment such as risers, lockers and a library system.
