For students interested in architecture, RLC offers several programs and certificates to jumpstart a profession in a variety of careers, from on-site construction manager to surveyor, teacher and many more. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, students with degrees or certificates in architecture from community colleges and above will see about a 5.7 percent increase in job availability between 2010 and 2020. Top careers included in the report are Architects, Architecture Teachers, Surveyors, and Engineers.

Degrees & Certificates in Facility Management

FACILITY MANAGEMENT — Certificate

APPLIED SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY DIVISION

This certificate is designed to prepare students for entry-level occupations involving the management of organizations' physical assets. Upon completion of the curriculum, students should have basic knowledge of building codes, building design and construction, mechanical and electrical systems operations, landscaping and grounds management, and asset management. A wide variety of career opportunities exist for individuals to be employed in manufacturing plants, hospitals, high-rise buildings, educational institutions, and recreation centers, as well as hotels and motels.

FACILITY MANAGEMENT — Degree

 This two-year program leads to an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Facility Management. This program is designed to prepare students for occupations involving the management of an organization’s physical assets. Upon completion of the curriculum, students should have thorough knowledge of building codes, building design and construction, mechanical and electrical systems operations, landscaping and grounds management and asset management. A wide variety of career opportunities exist for individuals to be employed in manufacturing plants, hospitals, high-rise buildings, educational institutions, recreation centers, as well as hotels and motels.
